Typically, summary installments are disliked from viewers as a pointless diversion, or perhaps viewed as a necessity for shows in the era of episodic releases. However, this wasn't the situation, though Avatar: The Last Airbender proved it via "The Ember Island Players," a cherished installment in its last season now being receiving a special Magic: The Gathering Secret Lair drop.

The full Secret Lair superdrop for the forthcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender edition was revealed on November 4. This includes five distinct sets, and even though the one called "My Cabbages!" is an admittedly amusing nod to Avatar's beloved recurring figure, the additional releases appear slightly lacking creativity, with one notable exception: "The Ember Island Players."
Based on episode 17 in the final season of the animated show, this Secret Lair features these specific cards:
- 1x Phantasmal Image as "Absolutely Accurate Actor"
- 1x Braid of Fire
- 1x Cursed Mirror
- 1x Mask of Memory
- 1x Thespian's Stage
Why this segment is special
Viewers of Avatar warmly cherish this particular episode, which functioned as a review of Aang and the group's journey prior to the final episode. Unlike typical clip shows, or retrospective segments, "The Ember Island Players" was not driven by budget restrictions or scheduling problems. The producers truly wanted to offer viewers a moment to revisit the overall plot, however, they opted to execute it with flair.
During the installment, the main characters view a stage show based on their adventures at a playhouse set on Ember Island, called The Boy in the Iceberg. The play itself is factually incorrect, melodramatic, and overall hilarious. It succeeds as it plays with the heroes' understanding about themselves, contrasting them with how the world (and particularly the antagonist nation) perceives them. It possesses an ideal level of self-awareness, and it ends up arguably the best adaptation of Avatar we have had.

Regarding worth, this is a great Secret Lair because of one major element: Braid of Fire. This card is valued between $20 and $40 on various platforms currently, and at $29.99 you can snag the full set, or $39.99 for the shiny edition.
Magic's Avatar: The Last Airbender edition will be available for advance previews on Nov. 14 and debuts internationally on November 21.
